JUNGLE SAFARI TOURNAMENT ETIQUETTE

DO'S

1. DO practice common courtesy at all times.

2. DO be signed up and in the tourney room prior to start time.

3. DO greet fellow members when you enter the room and as they enter. Welcome new members to the Jungle to make them feel as comfortable as we hope you are.

4. DO carefully follow the Hosting Td's instructions. Rules are run prior to every tourney for your benefit. Read and pay attention so you do not have to disrupt the tourney asking questions that are clearly stated in the rules.

5. DO ask questions if you don’t understand the rules BEFORE tourney begins so as not to disrupt the tourney for others.

6. DO watch carefully when your opponent's name is announced and write it down so you don't have to ask who it is.

7. DO wish your opponent "GL", "TY" and "WTG" or "GG". Courtesy is required at all times.

8. DO keep track of your pairings & score/token count...Write it down to avoid confusion and mistakes.

9. DO post round results in chat. Disputes will be resolved by SCORE. (see #8) If a non-token tourney, the LOSER of the round reports as "winners name//losers name". Always use the "//" between names so the TD can distinguish between other chat.

10. DO refrain from extra chatting when posting “end of round” results, wait until the TD has collected all the results and says "TY". Extraneous chat makes it more difficult for the TD to collect the info and delays getting winners & pairs out, prolonging the tourney.

11. DO respond when the TD asks if the winners of the round are “CORRECT?”. Any disputes after the next round begins is too late to change winners.

12. DO stay until the tourney is complete, winner is announced, bux are distributed and the TD "concludes" the tournament. It is extremely rude to the hosting TD to leave early.

13. DO congratulate the tourney winner.

14. DO thank the hosting TD. They have given up their valuable time to have the tournament for you. The least you can do is "thank" them.

15. DO read and understand all Jungle Safari League rules found under "Jungle Links" on the Jungle page...before participating in a tournament! An informed member is a good member!

15. DO have TONS of fun, relax and enjoy yourself!!!

DON'TS

1. DON'T show up after tourney scheduled start time and expect you’re still in the tourney. You may have been removed as a “no-show” player as required by Cases rules.

2. DON'T sign up for a tourney then not show up.

3. DON'T ask the hosting TD to wait for another player to get there. We start tourneys on time if we have 4 players in the room.

4. DON'T continue any dialogue or provoke non-league players into continuing verbal abuse. The situation is made worse when you give the abusive player recognition! Our policy is to IGNORE, REPORT & MUTE.

5. DON'T chat during end of round posting, wait until the TD has collected all the results and says "TY". When posting token count, DON'T put in anything except the five (5) numbers. Extras such as "tyfpm", "gl all" hearts, emoticons makes it much more difficult for the hosting TD to sort out the actual scores. Make it easier on the TD and add that after the "TY", please.

6. DON'T wait until the next round to dispute last round results. That’s too late! You must dispute round results at the end of that round, before the next round pairs are given. Once next round pairs are given, the TD cannot change the winner for the previous round. You snooze, you lose!

7. DON'T hassle the TDs!!! They all volunteer their valuable time to host tournaments for us and are trained to "follow strict guidelines" set forth by the Administrator of the league! Grievances should be brought to the attention of the HA at mitsukiwi@aol.com

8. DON'T leave until the tourney is complete, winner is announced, bux are distributed & TD "concludes" the tournament. It’s just plain rude!

9. DON'T make comments to other players that can be construed as unkind. No one can hear your voice inflection when you type in chat, so we may not know when you are joking or kidding around.

10. DON'T try to "give" the game to your opponent and leave the game when you are losing. That shows very poor sportsmanship and is against our rules. Each person must "earn" the win.

11. DON'T bring your personal problems into the tourneys. "Personal" means just that..."personal". We all have personal problems and don't want to hear yours. We are here to have fun and relax.

Suggestions, comments, and/or complaints are always welcome and may be emailed to any TD, HTD, or Admin.

Good luck, enjoy the tournaments and Remember the Golden Rule!!!
